Healer Rotation & Cooldowns
This rotation guide provides a quick, basic understanding of which abilities to prioritize when playing a Holy Paladin, along with additional details on important cooldowns at the bottom. Updated for the latest patch in World of Warcraft: The War Within (11.0.5).
Single Target
Ensure Beacon Of Virtue is active before the encounter begins.
- Cast as often as possible.
- Spend Holy Power when available.
- Use when healing is needed.
- Use when no healing is needed.
- Keep on cooldown for extra Consecrates.
- Use to reduce Holy Shock cooldown.
- Maintain on the ground when no other actions are available.
- Keep on cooldown for extra healing.
- Use on cooldown for additional healing.
- Use on cooldown for extra buffs.
Focus on casting Holy Shock frequently, spending Holy Power on Light Of Dawn and Word Of Glory. Use Shield Of The Righteous when healing isn't required, and maintain Consecration and Judgment for damage.
AoE
- Use on cooldown for AoE healing.
- Spend Holy Power when available for group healing.
- Use on cooldown for group buffs.
- Maintain on the ground for AoE damage.
- Use on cooldown for additional healing.
- Use when no healing is needed.
- Cast as often as possible for healing.
In AoE situations, prioritize Holy Prism and Light Of Dawn for group healing, while maintaining Consecration and using Blessing Of Summer for buffs.
Cooldowns
- Use during high damage phases for increased healing.
- Strong burst heal to quickly generate Holy Power.
- Buffs allies for increased healing.
- Use to save dying raid members.
- Transfer damage to yourself to protect allies.
- Empowers your chosen aura for raid-wide benefits.
- Clear harmful debuffs from allies.
- Remove movement-impairing effects from allies.
Utilize cooldowns like Avenging Wrath during heavy damage, and Divine Toll for quick healing bursts. Use Lay On Hands for critical saves.
