Healer Rotation & Cooldowns
This rotation guide provides a quick, basic understanding of which abilities to prioritize when playing a Holy Priest, along with additional details on important cooldowns at the bottom. Updated for the latest patch in World of Warcraft: The War Within (11.0.5).
Single Target
Ensure Holy Word Serenity is available before the encounter begins.
- Use when most of the raid is injured.
- Use during heavy raid damage.
- Use on a tank or ally about to take heavy damage.
- Use on a cluster of injured allies.
- Use for emergency triage on an ally near death.
- Use for general-purpose healing.
- Use on cooldown, usually on the tank.
- Use when at least 4 allies are injured.
- Use when no healing is required.
- Use when no healing is required.
Focus on using Holy Word Salvation and Divine Hymn during heavy damage phases. Use Guardian Spirit on critical allies and maintain Holy Word Sanctify for clusters of injured targets.
AoE
Use Circle Of Healing when multiple allies are injured.
- Use during heavy group damage.
- Use when most of your group is injured.
- Use on cooldown when at least 4 allies are injured.
- Use on cooldown, usually on the tank.
- Use when the majority of the raid is heavily injured.
- Use near 5 or more injured allies at 16+ stacks of Rhapsody.
- Use when multiple allies are injured.
- Use when no healing is required.
- Use when no healing is required.
In AoE situations, prioritize Divine Hymn and Holy Word Sanctify for group healing. Use Circle Of Healing and Prayer Of Mending to maintain ally health.
Cooldowns
- Use during periods of intense raid damage.
- Use to heal all allies in range during heavy damage.
- Use on a tank or ally about to take a large amount of damage.
- Use when your Mana is low or the boss is near death.
Utilize Divine Hymn and Holy Word Salvation during critical damage phases. Guardian Spirit is best used on tanks, while Symbol Of Hope helps manage Mana.
