Healer Rotation & Cooldowns
This rotation guide provides a quick, basic understanding of which abilities to prioritize when playing a Mistweaver Monk, along with additional details on important cooldowns at the bottom. Updated for the latest patch in World of Warcraft: The War Within (11.0.5).
Single Target
Ensure Renewing Mist is active on the target before engaging.
- Use as primary heal.
- Channel if damage is consistent.
- Use to preempt damage or heal high damage targets.
- Cast on cooldown unless saving charges.
- Use on targets in immediate danger.
For single-target healing, prioritize Vivify as your main heal, followed by Soothing Mist for consistent damage. Use Enveloping Mist to preemptively heal, and maintain Renewing Mist on cooldown.
AoE
Maintain Renewing Mist on multiple targets for effective healing.
- Use when 3+ allies are damaged.
- Keep active on as many targets as possible.
- Use liberally for AoE healing.
- Use during high damage phases.
- Use on cooldown when hitting 5+ allies.
In AoE situations, prioritize Vivify for multiple damaged allies, maintain Renewing Mist on targets, and utilize Invoke Chi Ji and Invoke Yulon during heavy damage.
Cooldowns
Use cooldowns strategically during high damage phases.
- Use to empower your next heal.
- Apply to mitigate large incoming damage.
- Use for raid-wide healing or dispelling.
- Use during sustained damage phases.
- Use frequently for passive raid healing.
- Use on cooldown when hitting multiple allies.
- Use to manage mana during heavy damage.
- Use in conjunction with other talents for AoE.
For cooldowns, prioritize Thunder Focus Tea for empowering heals, Life Cocoon for damage mitigation, and Revival for raid healing. Use Invoke Chi Ji and Invoke Yulon during high damage phases.
