DPS Rotation & Cooldowns

This rotation guide provides a quick, basic understanding of which abilities to prioritize when playing a Retribution Paladin, along with additional details on important cooldowns at the bottom. Updated for the latest patch in World of Warcraft: The War Within (11.0.5).

Single Target

Start with Blade Of Justice to apply Expurgation.

• Divine TollView detailsUse to generate Holy Power.
• Execution Sentence
• Hammer Of Light
• Final VerdictView detailsIf 5 Holy Power available.
• Divine StormView detailsIf 5 Holy Power and using Divine Storm build.
• Wake Of Ashes
• JudgmentView detailsIf 3 or less Holy Power.
• Blade Of JusticeView detailsIf Expurgation is not active.

Begin with Divine Toll for Holy Power, then use Execution Sentence and Hammer Of Light. Follow up with Final Verdict or Divine Storm based on Holy Power.

AoE

Switch to AoE rotation at 2+ targets.

• Execution Sentence
• Final VerdictView detailsIf 5 Holy Power available.

For AoE, prioritize Divine Toll for Holy Power, then Execution Sentence and Final Verdict. Use Divine Storm if applicable.

Cooldowns

Utilize Avenging Wrath for damage boosts, followed by Crusade and Final Reckoning when conditions are met.
